Couples and Family Therapy

Our family or partner affects who we are and who we become, for better or for worse.

What is Couples or Family Therapy or Counseling?

Our family or partner affects who we are and who we become, for better or worse. Healthy relationships enhance healthy lifestyles and choices, whereas unhealthy or toxic relationships create unhealthy lifestyles and choices.

No relationship is perfect – family therapy can improve your relationship and resolve roadblocks before they become impasses.

Couples or family therapy is designed to:

  • Rebuilding emotional connections and developing a deeper understanding of each other
  • Clarify your feelings about your relationship
  • Resolve conflict in a healthy manner
  • Process and work through unresolved issues

Couples or Family therapy offers a way to do this, a way to develop or maintain a healthy and satisfying lifestyle. The goal is to learn how to work together as a team to heal. Any issues tearing your family or relationship, will be addressed with my guidance and support. The goal is to improve communication and solve family problems, creating a better-functioning home environment.

How do you know if you need couples or family therapy?

Deciding if couples or family therapy is right for your family can be a big decision. While it may feel like admitting failure, it is a step forward. Whether you are a couple determining whether to marry, a family experiencing tension and conflict, or a husband and wife who has decided to separate, therapy can help you learn new and better ways to communicate, work through problems, discipline together, and relate to one another.  Experiencing silent treatment, extreme emotional reactions, significant breakdown in communication, or changes in your children’s behavior are all signs that couple, marriage, or family therapy can help.

Couples and Family Therapy can help with:

  • Better anger management skills and reduce conflict
  • Improved problem solving
  • Enhanced communication
  • A better understanding of health boundaries
  • Behavioral issues
  • Bring the family together after a crisis or during a divorce
  • Create honesty between family members
