My Area of Expertise

After practicing for over 15 years I can describe my style as direct offering support and accountability. My philosophy is progress not perfection and I believe that a client is capable of changing their life for the better.

I specialize in the following areas:

Anxiety Disorders

Trauma

Acute Stress Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Relationships Issues

Through my clinical experience I have come to learn that anxiety, trauma and difficultly in relationships all go hand in hand. Traumatic experiences whether it be unresolved grief or an abusive relationship leads to anxiety and that bleeds into our relationships and daily living. How can I Help?

Life really hits below the belt sometimes

  • Your employer just announced the company will being making lay offs
  • A loved one is killed in an accident
  • A child is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness
  • A relationship is filled with anger and conflict
  • Your marriage is on the verge of divorce

Why is life so hard sometimes? One thing we all share in common is that we feel hurt and disappointment. Chances are you are looking for a way to stop the hurt and disappointment and make a change! Typically you have been able to solve your own problems, but this time you just can not, and you are looking for help.

I will help you improve yourself, improve your family life, and make changes that are long lasting.

Is there really anyone that has not been hit by difficult stressors in their life? Problems add up, hurt us, and cause us to feel overwhelmed.

Guilt, sad, anxious, overwhelmed or burdened – or normal feelings. You are not “crazy” for needing help through this – just human.

There are times in life when you need help to get through feelings, or when life gets to be too much. Chances are that you are ready to make a change in your life and you are ready to ask for help.  Therapy is a great place to start. The fact is that therapy or counseling is a more acceptable approach today, and you do not have to been “really crazy, sick, or severly mentally ill” to benefit from it.

What you are feeling is a common and shared human experience. And you can get help. Not the kind of help that last 25 years and costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. But effective, immediate, solution focused therpay. I can help you resolve a crisis or painful situation and move you through the cycle of change.

Making lasting change in our lives is one of the hardest things we can do. Whether you are taking up a new exercise routine, trying to think more positively or just trying to break old habits. Setbacks are a natural part of change and do not exactly hinder your progress and stop you from moving forward. In fact they might be essential, to long lasting change in your life. I will help you identify your mistakes and setbacks and help you have a clear understanding as to how to move forward with solution focused goals.
